3 simple stretches to relax your pelvic floor muscles

While many of us have heard that Kegels are the key to pelvic floor health, more often than not the key is knowing when and how to relax these muscles.

Here are three simple stretches that can assist you in understanding and sensing your pelvic floor muscles’ subtle engagement and relaxation:

Child’s Pose: one of the best ways to fully relax your pelvic muscles

Happy Baby Pose: can help release tension if you have a habit of clenching

Supported Butterfly Pose: the support allows for a full and sustained relaxation of your muscles. Be sure to put a block or pillow under each leg.

Consult with a pelvic floor therapist to find the right balance for your unique needs and discover the benefits of a relaxed pelvic floor.
